vestibular adenitis

I was recently diagnosed with vestibular adenitis (a chronic inflammation of the glands, from what i understand) and vaginal sex has become extremely painful. my doctor prescribed steroidal cream and said that i'll probably have to use it for the rest of my life. I don't want to poison myself in that way -- does anyone have any information, natural cures/aids, anything? I want to be able to enjoy sex again. Information about vestibular adenitis is extremely limited and very little research has been done.
