Hi - Is there a way to change my username OR delete my profile and all posts associated with it?

My username is actually one that i've used for other things as well and when you pop it into google, you get all of the results from this website. (Note: it's not this username but an entirely different account).

i'm actually really upset. I use this website because i want to discuss my issues anonymously. I really did not know that it showed up in google searches. This is something that you should make clear to people when they sign up. I"m sure a lot of people don't realize this. when it comes to sexual issues, most people value their privacy.

I would really appreciate it if you could help me with this. Thanks.

You can always go back and edit your messages. Click on "My Discussions" at the top.

I can understand how upsetting it must be, but please try not to be angry at this forum. Most of the web is visible to search engines and it's actually a good thing that this forum is in the search engines because there's a LOT of really excellent advice here. People are always searching for help with their problems and if this site were not searchable, people wouldn't find the answers.

It's our responsibility as users to choose anonymous names if we want to be anonymous.

yes I understand now that I should have chosen an anonymous name. but given that i did not how can I delete my posts? I'm not interested in editing them becuase then they still show up as blank. rather I would like to delete them and my profile. most forums have an option to do this. is that possible here?

I think the forum is great. I agree that anonymity is our responsiblity but perhapys it should be the forums responsibility to let people know their usernames will be so public? just a thought. many sensitive forums are private.

I don't think deleting my posts and profile is to much to ask. is there a contact person I can email directly? this is a fairly large forum. I imaginethere must be someone who could help with something like this?
