TOPIC: Recovery after vestibulectomy???

Re: Recovery after vestibulectomy???

Maybe the kind of cream you put on a baby's butt when they get a rash.

Re: Recovery after vestibulectomy???

It's now been a week and a half since my surgery and I'm almost fully recovered. I'll post again in a month or two and say whether or not the surgery worked! But for anyone contemplating the surgery and scared about the bed rest, it really wasn't that bad at all. No groaning in pain, no excessive bleeding (just as much as a light period), and no total incapacitation.

By the way, thanks for the cream advice. Luckily that problem didn't last more than a couple of days.

I see my doctor in two weeks, but from what I can tell on my own, the surgery worked!

Re: Recovery after vestibulectomy???

I saw my gynecologist today, and everything went so smoothly! Literally! Usually I have to put the speculum in, and amidst pain, but this time he was able to put it in himself and I didn't feel any pain at all (or very very minimal). He was also able to touch the area (each side of the vestibule) and that didn't cause pain either. A huge difference from before when any contact made me cringe and tighten up because of the extreme discomfort!

Now, I just need to find a man! Finally at 32 (33 next month), I can actually have sex! What a life-changing thing!!

Hi Santacruzin,

I was wondering if you could provide your email address? I wanted to ask you about your surgery?

Thanks,

Micky

Re: Recovery after vestibulectomy???

Yes, I wish I knew where people were having surgery. Then I could know where to go since I'm in Canada and need to go through a long process to attempt to get my government to pay for the surgery.

Re: Recovery after vestibulectomy???

Im confused how do you know if the area that is effected for me its the bottom of the vestibule is due to pelvic muscles being in spasm (which my doctor told me) or is it visa versa the skin causing the muscles to spasm. How do you know if you need a vestibulectomy done. I am fine in the am until I sit, and then the pain there starts

Re: Recovery after vestibulectomy???

sounds more like a blood flow issue or a compression irritation, if it gets worse when you sit. If that is the case then you probably need physical therapy. it is important to get evaluated by a PT or a healthcare provider that specializes in pelvic pain, before you make any decisions.

Re: Recovery after vestibulectomy???

Hey, i know it's been a long time since you've posted but I just got a vestibulectomy and i wanted to know how you're doing! i'm in a lot of pain but I'm just hoping that this surgery was worth it. Anyone who's had the surgery who can give me some advice on how to heal quickly? And anyone have success stories to share??
thanks!

Re: Recovery after vestibulectomy???

msm here is a link to the vestibulectomy pages, there are 33 pages of posts of women from the start to the recovery. Page 33 is the latest, mostly posters who are in recovery. That should answer a lot of your questions.
