Erection Trouble

Hi,
I am a 50 year old male that is having some problems
getting an erection. There are multiple potential causes
for it, but I would like to talk about the symptoms first.

I can no longer get a spontaneous erection. I have to
be manipulated. I lost morning erections some time ago, but
I got an unsatisfactory answer from a doctor. There are times
when regular masturbation is successful and forceful. There are occasions
it's neither. I think I feel the urge for sex pretty normally. My testosterone
level is higher than normal and I am in very good physical shape.
A few years ago I found a growth in my testicles. An ultrasound found
it to be a bag of fluid and was told it was nothing to worry about. If
I refrain from masturbating for a time I become very horny and feel like
an erection is starting, but never quite does. Sticking to the purely physical
for now, what could cause this? Would a Urologist look for things that
a regular M.D. wouldn't? Any similar experiences/advice appreciated.

Re: Erection Trouble

A Urologist would be the kind of Dr. you should see. Here is a link to one of our websites where there are several articles on Erectile Dysfunction.

Re:Erection Trouble

yes, a urologist would give you a more clear picture. I am a physical therapist that specializes in pelvic floor disorders. There has been research that if there is a weakness in the pelvic floor muscles or decreased blood flow to the area, it can result in erectile dysfunction. This could be the problem, but see a urologist that specializes in ED to get a better picture. My book, Heal Pelvic Pain, also goes through the Kegel exercises that can help with weak pelvic floor muscles and decreased blood flow.

Re:Erection Trouble

I feel the best option left for you to visit a doctor because he will the best person to judge your problem.
Also you can try to use more effective drugs, but I will suggest you to not use these drugs because they may lead to other side effects. Please ensure that you get the proper advice from the doctor and then if he says yes you can use them.

Re:Erection Trouble

Weak pelvic floor muscles can contribute to this. Decreased blood flow can also contribute to this. Hormones do play a big role and can vary at different times of the day. As well, it could be stress, anxiety, etc.

Re:Erection Trouble

There are four major reasons because of which ED happens. These are Vascular Disease, Nerve Damage, Psychological Factors and Prescription Medications. The best solution could be found at a Urologist.

Re:Erection Trouble

I had some erection issues too. no erection without masturbation, mostly soft when reached and so on. couldn't get any help from doctors, who were giving me only viagra and other stuff, but my problem didn't stop. So I searched the internet and get some info about things that cause ED. I hope I'll help You, as it helped me. A least I found out what to do next and get some real help from real doctors. So wish You luck.

Re:Erection Trouble

I also advice that the best thing to do is document yourself and go to 2-3 doctors to get different opinions.

Good luck.

Re: Erection Trouble

Thank you for the informative details on erectile dysfunction. How about anything related to early ejaculation? Like exercise methods or so?
